Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what your day-to-day life looks like?
I work from home and live in the country in Quebec, Canada, in a mountainous ski region called Les Laurentides, an hour north of Montreal. I'm a freelance writer, published author, screenwriter, translator and content creator. My daily life is lived mostly at home, but also in the car, doing errands, attending events for work, creating content, visiting friends or walking the dog.

How would you describe your personal style, and how do you express it through your footwear choices?
I aim for comfort first and foremost, but style matters to me, too. I gravitate towards classic, flower silhouettes, neutrals and soft, natural fabrics. I try to keep my fashion as timeless and sustainable as possible and invest in quality pieces that are versatile and durable.
What does a typical day in your life look like, and how does your footwear play a role in it?
I am mostly at home, where comforts matters most, or walking outside, where sturdiness comes into play as well. I do need some variety in my footwear as well as more formal pieces since I create fashion content for my social media and attend events once in a while.

What were some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced with finding footwear that fits in the past?
Width, no doubt. I have a wide, extremely flat foot that makes it very hard to find shoes, regardless of style. Boots tend to squeeze me, flats appear deformed because my foot squishes them at the arch, heels are neither dainty not sturdy enough to support me.

Do you have any memorable stories or experiences tied to the footwear you’ve worn over the years?
Honestly, I have never been able to really have fun with shoes, experiment with style, have options to go with different outfits. I spent my life in sneakers and flip flops because I couldn't find anything that fit me. I recently turned 40 and I'm having the most fun I've ever had with footwear, specifically because of Wydr. I have SO MANY SHOES now, I never thought I'd see the day where I could actually choose a good looking shoe rather than settle for the one that clashes the least with my outfit.
What are the top three things you look for when choosing a pair of shoes?
Comfort and support, style, quality.

How did you first come across Wydr Studios, and what made you decide to give it a try?
I saw some buzz around the brand on social media, primarily within the plus size community. I gave it a try because, quite frankly, I had no other options! I was expecting to be disappointed, but I was not. Wydr changed my life.

What stood out to you about our footwear compared to other brands you’ve tried?
The fact that you were overtly catering to the plus size community, for one, and also your being a specialized wide fit brand. Most brands will make a few wide fit models, often not very generously sized and more like an afterthought, but you made it your whole mission. I also saw all of the work that went into fit testing, reaching out to your community, asking us what we wanted or needed.

How has wearing our shoes impacted your daily life or activities?
I am much more comfortable, and my footwear is FINALLY catching up to the rest of my wardrobe instead of being the weak point. I can wear heels and feel comfy and secure, I can walk all day without any pain.
What are some of your favorite activities, and how does your choice of footwear support these?
I enjoy walking my dog and live in a corner of the world where the seasons are pretty extreme, so sturdy, versatile footwear is very helpful. I also need cute shoes for content creation :)

What role does comfort and functionality play in your footwear decisions?
A great one! Comfort is what matters to me the most.
What advice would you give to someone who struggles with finding the right pair of shoes?
First and foremost, measure your feet in length and width and compare with the brand's size guide. I would also suggest researching the brands they are interested in, look at tagged pictures on their socials, read client testimonials, ask around. Word of mouth and the feedback of real customers is the best way to know you're making the right choice.

How does the footwear you choose reflect your values, such as sustainability, quality, or fashion?
I don't have that many options when it comes to footwear so I can't be the pickiest customer, but I will always prioritize a brand that puts the plus size community first and takes customer feedback into account.
In what ways do you see footwear as more than just an accessory—perhaps as a reflection of identity or a means to tell your story?
I don't know about my identity, but feeling good about what's on my feet really lifts up my mood, boosts my confidence and allows me to walk proudly and feel supported. Wearing cute, good quality shoes or boots makes a world of difference in my daily life.

What would you say to someone considering trying Wydr Studios for the first time?
Absolutely go for it! Measure your feet, reach out to customer service if you have any question and look for community feedback. We're all really happy to help! :)
